During the Singhastha-2028 festival, a large number of devotees will reach Ujjain. For the smooth movement of devotees and vehicles from other districts, various routes will be designated according to traffic arrangements. For this, Collector Roshan Kumar Singh inspected the proposed road construction sites on Sunday and gave necessary directions to the officials. During the inspection, officials from MPRDCE, Ujjain Development Authority and traffic police were present. On Sunday afternoon, Collector Roshan Kumar Singh reached the Tapobhumi Chauraha located on Indore Road and inspected the vehicle movement through the underpass, proposed new road construction sites and service roads. He took information from the officials about the necessity of the proposed routes, the possible traffic situation and the arrangements to be made considering the vehicle pressure during Singhastha. After that, Collector Sri Singh inspected the proposed traffic arrangements in front of Deymart on Indore Road. He also observed the proposed turning point for vehicles coming from the Engineering College to go towards Indore Road and Mahakaleshwar Temple. Similarly, he inspected the site for the construction work to connect the proposed routes for vehicles going from Mahamrityunjay Gate to Nankheda and Indore Road, and to the proposed route near Hari Fatak Bridge from Unity Mall. Collector Sri Singh directed the officials to prepare a detailed plan for the proposed routes. At the same time, a plan will be made to install necessary signage on the routes according to traffic rules and convenience of vehicle drivers in coordination with the traffic police. He said that a large number of vehicles from outside will enter the city during Singhastha. In this case, it is necessary that clear and correct directions are available for the devotees to reach their destinations. He said that in addition to the designated routes for the movement of outside vehicles, service roads and alternative routes should also be designated according to the needs for the movement of local vehicles in the urban area, so that unnecessary pressure is not placed on the city's internal traffic during Singhastha. Collector Sri Singh said that a detailed plan should be prepared considering the utility, connectivity, traffic pressure and convenience of the general public for the routes for the residents and devotees.
