R. Ashoka criticised D.K. Shivakumar over a protest at the Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Bengaluru concerning alleged misuse of Form 7. Two linked video posts shared by Yasir Mushtaq on X report Shivakumar’s demands and Ashoka’s response.

According to Mushtaq’s earlier post, Shivakumar staged a sit-in with ministers and party office-bearers, demanding registration of an FIR over alleged attempts to remove voters from electoral rolls. The post quotes him as saying that evidence identifying people who submitted and signed the forms had been presented to electoral authorities.

Shivakumar alleged that booth-level officers had been pressured to accept bulk deletion requests and that Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and minority voters were being targeted. These are allegations attributed to Shivakumar; the supplied posts do not independently establish them.

Mushtaq’s report says Chief Electoral Officer Anbu Kumar indicated that a formal response would follow within two to three days after legal consultations. Shivakumar rejected the proposed delay and said he would remain until an FIR was registered.

In the later post, Ashoka challenged Congress’s allegations. He argued that anyone could submit an application, but that electoral authorities decide whether a name is removed or retained following verification. He described consultations with booth-level officers and agents and inspections to establish residency.

Ashoka urged those alleging wrongful deletions to produce affected voters and documents before electoral authorities or approach the courts. He also questioned the state executive’s authority to direct the Election Commission.

Both videos and their original source links are included below. The posts present competing accounts of the dispute; they do not establish that the alleged deletions occurred or that an FIR was subsequently registered.
