Adivasi students from Nashik who marched on foot for demands were taken into custody by Mumbai police today. After their request to gather at Azad Maidan was denied, these students stayed at Tilak Bhavan in Dadar and tried to meet the Governor. They had started their march from Nashik on 28 September for various demands including better facilities, inquiry into student deaths in tribal schools, and the resignation of the tribal development minister. However, the police in Mumbai blocked them and sent them back to Nashik by bus.
